ISO stands for “International Organisation for Standardisation”. Today’s version DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 puts its focus on the process and customers’ orientation of QM-systems. A QM-system certified under DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 is a standardised criterion for the orientation of the inner-company actions towards the customers’ wishes.
IFS International Food Standard German trade companies specified the demands on the quality management of their food supplier by introducing common standards, i.e. the International Food Standard (IFS). With this system they created an instrument to guarantee a constant process of improvements in food producing companies.
BRC Global Standard The British Retail Consortium (BRC) developed the most prestigious international standard for companies in the food retail trade. The certificate includes 36 chapters which refer to production control, HACCP up to documentation control.
GMP The GMP-Standard was developed by the Dutch Market Organisation for Pet Feed (PDV). It represents the demands on a QM-system under DIN EN ISO 9001 including specific hygienic procedures for production, distribution and transport of pet feed. The aim is that all parts of the food chain which participate in the production of meat, milk and eggs, work under controlled production conditions.
